First a shot of the bike outside one of my garages.

and a shot of the view down my side yard to the farm behind.

I rode down into old town Dandridge (proudly hailed as TN's second oldest town.) This is about 3 miles from my house. I like old bridges and this one seems pretty narrow so I assume it's pretty old.

Nice views of Douglas Lake on both sides of the bridge.

No, the bridge is straight, my camera was tilted. Still I love the old steel work in these things.

Conditions were so perfect I kept forgetting to take any pictures. The mountains are in view often as I ride out this portion of RTE 92. Oh, and my GPS is still telling me I'm offroute and it hasn't conceded that I'm NOT planning on going through Sevierville.

Neat old undershot mill. Fun to see and if they get it restored well it could be even more fun to check out.

Not a real impressive place from this angle.

I'm still getting used to the fact that you're responsible for staying on the road by yourself down here. Where I came from I suspect there'd be a wall of armco along roads like this one. This wasn't much of a drop off though; I hit some that were downright scary. Loved it!

This was a neat little park somewhere near Ober Gatlinburg. I looped around it and took a few extra pictures. One of my neighbors here told me it's some kind of "Cherokee something loop." Well, they knew and I forgot since they told me. I'll have to get back to this one more prepared to go hiking around in there.

I didn't shoot any pictures as I took basically the same route home that the GPS was trying to make me take on the way out. I was right that there was too much traffic but I hadn't really been through Pigeon Forge before so this let me get a slower look. Finally back on rte 139 from Sevierville to Dandridge I remembered to take a few pictures. I really hate having to see this stuff day in and day out. :-)

Next time I'll do more planning than just punching in the park and going. Clearly I need to get INTO the park more next time. At some point on the way out I realized the GPS was still trying to get me through Sevierville so I hit detour and that finally worked out. I'll have to set a bunch of waypoints for both a route out and another route home.
